The Section of Medical Genetics is dedicated to pursuing clinical and basic research on inheritable diseases of companion animals to better understand the disease processes and to develop novel therapeutic approaches. The Section of Medical Genetics is also involved in the areas of veterinary reproduction and pediatrics in order to care for patients with concerns in these areas, and to prepare veterinary students for patient problems in these areas once they graduate. The Section is located in The Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
